Praveen Kumar hails from Bangalore, where he has dedicated his life to the art of bharatanatyam. Most recently, Kumar was selected to perform by the Music Academy to perform in a primary spot at the 2022 Chennai season!
Recognized as Karnataka Kalasri from Karnataka Sangeeta Nrutya Academy in 2021, Kumar has been a celebrated performer across India and internationally for nearly two decades.

Natya Company will open this performance with Smt Hema Rajagopalan’s newest work SEARCH WITHIN. Dancers search for the beauty of Siva – only to find that this search for physical beauty is better satiated through recognition of the grace of nature and the duality of our existence/non-existence, bringing a compelling peace of the inner soul.
As the mainstage production, Praveen Kumar‘s SAKHA is a thematic presentation centered around a Nayaka – exploring his relationships as a friend and companion.
